It's sad to hear of the passing of our friend 'H', but long will we remember playing relaxed hockey with Harry on his Winnipeg Police team 'Harry's Heros'. And then there will always be more memories of the fishing and camping in Ontario with members of his shift, that he regarded as his friends more than shift mates. He always made the time to look at the best of things and laughed and had fun with his friends. Harry was always on the move doing something, being involved, and caring.....he always cared about people in general, not just his family and work friends. He was always good hearted even when our pranks went overboard a bit...or a lot, but he received them well and had his share of dishing them out too, and always with a laugh and a smile on his face. He always spoke so lovingly of his best friend and soul mate 'Rosa', and the plans they made to travel and how he enjoyed being with her. Our most sincere condolences to Rosa and the Bakema family, with the passing of a truly great person.

We met Harry through the Police and Pals bowling league. Then later, through coincidence, we became neighbours in East St Paul. Always knew him as a great guy and a good neighbour. Our condolences to Roseanna.

Sorry for your loss Roseanna. My first ever job was when I was only 16 when Harry hired me at the muffin shop. I owe many life long friends and memories due my time there and you were both wonderful bosses. I learned a lot of responsibilities from Harry and from that place. Rest In Peace Harry.

Deeply saddened by Harry’s passing. As a fellow Transconian, I went to school with Roseanne and I knew Harry most of my life including many years with Winnipeg Police. I knew Harry to be an honest and kind person who was devoted to his family, friends and workmates. Harry was a good, honest and dedicated cop. I was proud to call him my friend. One of my best memories of Harry was playing with the ACES baseball team and playing at the First Tournament of the Lakes in Minneapolis in1984. I will miss you Harry. My deepest condolences to Roseanne and the Bakema family.

Dear Roseanne, we have thought of you both over the years! Dave and I will NEVER be able to thank you for all you and Harry did for our son Bruce! You two were instrumental in him being the good person he is today! I know Bruce held both of you in the highest esteem, and still does.
Through all your trials and tribulations over the last few years, you have been in our prayers so many times.
Dave and I will be away at the time of Harry’s service. So unfortunate as we sure would be there!
Much love,
Kathy and Dave McKibbin

How sad we feel as you try to endure your profound loss. It’s hard to watch those we care about struggle with their health. One thing that really helps is a promise in the bible, at Isaiah 33:24, where it says that soon there will come a time when no one living on this earth will say “I am sick” ever again. It’s what keeps us going personally, as we too, have lost friends & relatives. An unending, happy life in the paradise earth promised in Luke 23:43 will be a place and time where those we’ve lost will be brought back to life again. We hope this sure promise keep you going too. Take good care.
