My condolences to you Donna. I am so sorry for your loss. Kenneth was one of a kind! His smile, laugh and sense of humor is what I remember the most. He always knew how to cheer a person up and make them laugh. The love that you both shared together was beautiful. Two people that were destined to be together. Both genuine and hearts full of gold. Kenneth will continue to walk life with you as your guardian angel. Sending you hugs Donna.
Condolences to the Kubalba family, may you find peace in the memories of Kenneth

I am so sorry for the loss of this great man. His booming voice is what I will remember most and a smile that always reached his eyes. A genuine gentleman that always made sure his lady had everything she could ever need.
My dear friend Donna. These last six months have been so hard and through it all you have remained the poised, positive and always amazing person you truly are. I will miss hearing about your Friday date nights with your honey. Seeing the looks of love you two would exchange when passing one another at work, without having to say a word. Hearing the stories of your evenings spent singing and the amount of research that went into getting Ken that perfect Karaoke machine.
Ken was going to a NASCAR race in Arizona. Donna and him knew how much my son loved one particular driver. He offered to pick up a t-shirt from the race. The look on my sons face when he opened that gift is one I will never forget and will associate with two people doing something so kind for a little boy.
Donna, I don't know how you move on from this, but I know you will have your guardian angel guiding you. Myself and your many friends and loved ones are also here for you as you face this new journey.
To Ken's family, I cant imagine the pain you are all going through, losing such an amazing Father, Son, Uncle and Brother. Take comfort in the memories you have of him.

I had seen Kenny around the old PSB for years but didn't really get to know him well until the building was vacated and he was left as the lone watchman in the PSB for a few months. It was during that time I ended up doing a project in the building for a few weeks and the total population of the PSB was just him and me. If he wasn't offering to help me with something then he was at minimum keeping me laughing with his stories. We kept that friendship after he got moved to HQ. He was a down to earth - good person, I am lucky that I got to know him better and consider him a friend. My condolences to his family and friends.

My dear friend, Donna ... no words can describe how very sorry I am to learn of the loss of your beloved partner, Ken. He was an exceptional, kind-hearted gentleman who touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him --- both in and out of the workplace. I, too, enjoyed working with him over the years, and I will especially miss his smile, sense of humour and gift for story-telling. He truly loved people, and always had something (funny) to share! But, oh, how he loved you, Donna! I'm happy that the Lord brought the two of you together and blessed you with such a beautiful, special relationship filled with much love, joy and laughter.
In this time of sadness, may God's promise of eternal life bring you hope, His caring, comforting presence bring you peace, and may the love of family and friends and endearing memories you will carry forever in your heart bring you strength to carry you through the coming days.
Please extend our family's sympathy to Ken's family as well. I (we) will continue to keep you close in thought and prayer.
With love, heartfelt sympathy, hugs and prayers to all of you,
Lesley, Sierra & Noah Bailey

My sincere sympathy to the families. Ken was an amazing man to work with and had that special gift to talk to everyone and make them laugh or help them with a task. He never let you down. When Ken would come into a room he always had a funny story for us all and would keep us laughing till he left. It was a great pleasure to have known and worked with him. Donna was truly his soul mate and I am glad he found you and you had shared the special times you did together. He will be by your side forever.

To Garry a sibling you feel in your shared blood can never be taken away.
You shared the same room amd ate at the same table all those years. Always wishing for the best in their life's journey. The family circle has been torn apart.
Ken surly did not want to leave his loved ones so soon. A father wants to watch their children blossom into mature adults and have happy lives. Yes Ken is near you all giving gentle direction. In the silence of time listen to his wisdom.
For he is as near to you as you wish. Be open to the signs he sends.
He is with the all loving God & Healer. Ken is at rest & Peace
Would we not want this for all we care & Love. Cry tears of comfort for his
new world adventures God has taken him too.
alleluia AMEN

My Kenny,
Honey, what a journey we have been on these past 10 years. If I had to do it all over again, I would in a second.
I would never have missed out on our amazing love story.
Our first date, a dinner date. You were so very kind to me. You were thoughtful and let's not forget how you made me laugh, oh you made me laugh. I remember I wasn't feeling well and you drove all over the city looking for a walk-in clinic that was open. You sat with me and then you took me home and made sure I was ok. I knew then you were the man i would be with.
And thus began our life together.
We began to go from 2 people into one really. We didn't care where we were, as long as we were together.
Kenny, you were so many beautiful things and that's why I love you so.
You showed me so much love and respect. I always knew you had my best interests at heart. I always knew I was loved and I was safe. Thank you always for that.
You loved people. You loved talking with them and always wanted to make them laugh. And that you did. You cared about people. You always wanted the best for everyone and that meant their happiness was always before yours.
Your love for your family, immeasurable. I know how blessed they were to have you as a son, father and brother.
Honey, your love for music made you shine. You loved to pick up the guitar and play be ear. It amazed all who heard you play. Thank you for all our writing and singing sessions. I know everyone who heard your song, "I'm an average guy...." chuckled and thought you should finish writing it... I won't put the rest of the words down as those that you sang it to, will know.
Journeys are not always smooth. Those are the times LOVE shines brightest. The last 6 months I have to address as it brought out even more beautiful qualities in you honey. Bravery and strength, and for me, pride in you for being such a fighter. Oh honey, you did so good, you faced every challenge with that beautiful smile of yours. I believe our love reached another level.
I will love you always as you were always in my heart and that is where you will stay. Forever.
Honey, I know you are in heaven playing music with the Angels. Play my favourite song for me.
I LOVE YOU AND MI U.
This poem is for you, honey, (by E.E. Cummings)
"I Carry Your Heart with Me"
i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart) i am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
I CARRY YOUR HEART (I CARRY IT IN MY HEART)
This is thanks to all the beautiful people Ken and I had walking right beside us since June. Please know how very special it was to Ken and I to have your love and support.
Art and Gerri, your kindness for reaching out and checking in on us will never be forgotten. George, our talks brought me great comfort. Thank you for confirming our beliefs in God and His plan. Naomi and Jodi, how do we thank such kind-hearted women who have the unique gift of empathy. Lee our talks meant alot to Ken and I. Thank you to the Union as a whole, your support is greatly appreciated. Ken's co-workers, he loved you all. His greatest time at work was when he was acting supervisor, and he could offer his appreciation to you all for a great job done. To his long time friends, Nelson, Kevin K, Kevin E, Rick Raffey and Patti Petrie, he loved you guys. To all our friends at the Winnipeg Police Service, thank you for all the emails, cards and phone calls and also to those who did not approach me, as to not resort me to a puddle. Thank you. To Harry and Nora, Ken's long time neighbours, thank you for the food and prayers.
Thank you Amanda for all our lunch dates over these past months. To Lisa, Karen, Jennie, Vali, Judy and Doris. Thank you for all the support.
And.... to MY FAMILY, I am truly blessed. Dad, thanks is not enough to say, but all our early morning coffee's on the weekend and after work. You were there and listened. I will be forever grateful. Debbie and William, thank you for all the double dates over the years, Ken loved you guys.
To Dr. Amanda Donahoe. We met your briefly on December 27th, 2018. You brought such compassion. I believe you got a change to see Ken's wit and saw what a kind soul he was. Thank you for bringing me closure the next day. you really are doing the work you were called to do.
And thanks to God. You chose to not walk beside us, but knew the road was winding so You decided to carry us.
