FRANCES ANDREJOWICH

Obituary of FRANCES ANDREJOWICH

Frances passed away at the age of 92 on December 18, 2018 at Kin Place Personal Care Home in Oakbank where she had been residing for the past 1 ½ years.

Frances was the first born to parents John and Mary (nee Chopp) Bukowski of Cooks Creek, Manitoba.

Frances was predeceased by her parents, husband Walter, daughter Pat Klos, son Walter, grandson Yuri Andrejowich, Granddaughter-in-law Donna McFadyen, Brother Eddie Bukowski and sister Violet Dudeck.

She leaves to mourn her loss her children Ray Andrejowich, (children, Kathy Andrejowich and Jake Groot, Carol Andrejowich and Matt Monasterski and David Andrejowich and Jana Galis); Linda and Carmen McFadyen, (sons Myles and Vance); Janice and Walter Klassen; son-in-law Wallace Klos, (children Curtis and Catherine Klos, Dwayne and Serena Klos, Krissy and Jeremy Rennie, Michael and Sharon Klos); daughter-in-law Daniela Andrejowich (children Heidi and Albert Ordelheide, Tammy Mock-Andrejowich, Erika Andrejowich, Dustin Andrejowich); daughter-in-law, Janette Andrejowich.  Mom also leaves to mourn 15 great grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law Joe and Eleanor Bukowski and sister-in-law Shirley Bukowski.  Many beloved extended family and friends also mourn Frances’ loss.

Frances attended Zora School in Cooks Creek until grade 8, after which she worked in a sewing factory in Winnipeg which instilled her great love of sewing throughout her life.

At age 18 Frances was smitten when she met a blue-eyed, dimpled, dark curly haired young man by the name of Walter.  Walter was instantly in love.  It didn’t take long before they were married on July 29, 1944. They celebrated 67 years of marriage before Walter passed in 2012.

Mom was a true partner on the farm with Dad from the very beginning of their marriage.  Once the children were old enough they joined in working alongside Mom and Dad.  Some families go to the beach, our family worked on the farm.

Life was not all hard work as Mom and Dad loved to have family and friends over for a good old fashioned game of cards or simply to visit and share their love and bounty with all.  In later years, Mom and Dad enjoyed many trips to Hawaii.

Mom had suffered from medical issues throughout the latter part of her life, the most dramatically being a knee replacement surgery gone badly in 1982 which resulted in her right leg being fused.   In a lesser person, that would have slowed them down considerably, but mom’s tenacious spirit prevented that from happening.

Mom moved to Kin Place Assisted Living in 2012 after Dad passed away. There she was able to slow down and enjoyed the companionship of people who had been her neighbors from years gone by.

Mom’s final home was at Oakbank Kin Place Personal Care Home where she found deep contentment in knowing that all her needs were taken care of.  She loved all of the staff, expressing her gratitude to them on a daily basis, and they all loved her back.  There is not a greater group of caring Angels to be found as there is at Kin Place PCH.  We cannot thank you enough for how wonderfully you cared for our Mother.

Thank you to everyone who visited or phoned Mom.  She truly enjoyed every visit and phone call, it meant a lot to her and to us, her family.

Special thanks go to Pat, Fred and Lorne Plante for being the best neighbors possible.  You were always available for Mom day and night and it means more than you’ll ever know.  Special thanks also go to Daniela Andrejowich, for ensuring Mom saw Dad on a regular schedule before Dad’s passing and for continuing to see Mom on a regular basis.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 am in Cooks Creek at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, with viewing one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
