ADAM ANTONCHUK Adam Antonchuk, beloved by his family and many friends, passed away peacefully and into God’s hands at Donwood Manor on September 29 2012. He leaves behind Carol, his beloved wife and best friend of 67 years. He is survived by his sons Ron (and wife Kathy) and Bob (and wife Mary), his grandchildren Steven (and wife Edie), Jennifer, Kelly and Kyle, and his great-grandchildren Jordan and Rachel. He is also survived by his younger brother Hnat in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his younger brother Bill who lived in Cowan and his older sister Peraska who remained in Ukraine. Adam was born in Ukraine on April 4 1923 and immigrated with his parents to Canada at the age of six. He grew up in Cowan and at an early age went to work at the mines in Flin Flon, where he met and fell in love with Carol. Carol and Adam farmed in Cowan before moving to Winnipeg in 1955. Adam was employed by The Winnipeg Tribune, where he worked his way up to Circulation Manager. When the Tribune closed, he retired to spend winters in Florida and summers at Camp Rusalka. Adam was Manager of Camp Rusalka and was on the Executive of the Ukrainian National Federation (UNF). Wherever he went, he befriended all he met and is remembered with a smile. Funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Holy Family Cemetery.
