Obituary of ESTHER SIGURJONA USUNIER
Esther Sigurjona Usunier
(nee Sopher)
February 20, 1942 – November 19, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Esther announces her passing on Monday November 19, 2018.
Daughter of Valdimar and Gislina Sopher ,she was also a wife, mother, amma, sister, aunt, and friend who has left a forever imprint on all our lives. Esther will be loved and remembered fondly for her tender and gentle soul. She was selfless. Always putting the needs of others before her own. Esther was compassionate and kindhearted. Even after losing her hearing she always found a way to understand the unheard words so she could offer her support, comfort, encouragement and celebrate in the joys of others. Many will agree that Esther was generous with her witty humor. Her contagious smile could affect an entire room. No one ever walked away without sharing a laugh. Esther was an Earth Angel. The loving hand of God placed her amongst us so she could shine her light and illuminate this world. Her faith and belief in that Power greater than herself has always been her beacon. That light has now guided her home to be an Angel with God.
Let us learn by her example. Let us be accepting and respectful of each other. Let us not judge or criticize. Let us love each other unconditionally.
Thank you to all those at Concordia Hospital who provided exceptional care and comfort to Esther, and her family. We have been deeply touched and we are grateful to you. Bonds were created that can never be undone.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Spirit of Hope Rescue.
