Obituary of FRIDA BRERETON
Frida Brereton (nee Peter)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Frida Brereton on October 19, 2018 at the age of 79 at the Riverview Health Centre after a long battle with Cancer.
Mom was born in 1939 and went to Woodrow School in Lowland MB. Throughout her life she worked for Eatons, Walter Woods, Marshal Wells and Acklands Granger, where she retired in 2004. After her retirement she volunteered for many years at Misericordia Health Centre and loved to spend time with her granddaughters. Mom loved her family and the simpler things like cooking, puzzles, cribbage and time with family.
Mom leaves to cherish her memory sons Tom (Francie), Ron (Karen), their daughters Tavia (Aaron) and Amy, and Jo-Anne McNeil (Pat) their daughters Taylor and Sarah, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her one remaining brother Edward Peter. She was predeceased by her parents Samuel and Alvina (Kowalke) Peter, siblings Adolf, George, Anne Russell, Martha Fiebelkorn and Albertina Peter.
The family thanks the incredibly caring Palliative Care staff at both St. Boniface and Riverview. Mom wanted to maintain control of her journey for as long as possible and the staff did that and more for her while ensuring her dignity with compassion.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, October 24, at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
