After high school Roy went to work for the City of Winnipeg in the parks and Recreational Department. He retired after 32 years of service.

ln 1982 he met the love of his life, Debbie Pondy and they married October 8, 1983. They recently celebrated 35 years of marriage. They have two beautiful children, daughter Ashley, and son Christopher. Roy and Chris were close buddies, they spent a lot of time together, watching the sports channel, the old comedies and just hanging out together. With endless sports channels available on TV Roy was a happy camper; flicking thru and watching the  various sporting events. Roy loved comedy, and loved to laugh at Laurel and Hardy, the Three Stooges, and the Honeymooners. He loved that famous line, To the Moon Alice!

ln early years, Roy loved going to the Blue Bomber games at the Winnipeg stadium with Milt (Dave) and Whip (Gerry) who stood up at Roy and Debbie’s wedding.

Since his retirement he was an avid walker. He could be seen walking throughout the Maples neighbourhood, and at the Wellness .

Roy loved to travel, and as a family made many trips to the United States, especially Hawaii, where they spent a few weeks every year. During their travels they made many friends over the years.

Roy, we will always remember your quick wit, and your laughter. You will remain close in our hearts forever. We love you and miss you.
