Mom you are always in our heart and thoughts! I miss you each and every day starting with my morning phone call to my end of work day call on the way home. You have taught me so much in life with being kind to others, keeping a positive outlook and to treat others with love and a tender heart.
I wish I could still hear your laughter and see your smile as you lit up a room and entertained so many! You are now my angel in heaven and I have no doubt everyone will love you like we did! I love you.

Miss you mom more than you will ever know and especially our long conversations when I was on the road to keep me awake when driving late into the night. Thank you for being a phenomenal mom and being there when we needed you which was often. Check in on us from Heaven mom because the world is not the same without you.

I was saddened to hear of Barb's passing. She was my "Big Sister" while in training at the Winnipeg General Hospital. Barb welcomed me to Winnipeg and to the world of student nurses in a kind and fun loving way. I will always remember her wonderful spirit and mentorship.
Barb & I drifted apart after finishing training, by distance, careers in nursing and motherhood, but I never forgot her!
Thank you Barb for playing a lasting role in my nursing life.
My deepest condolences to the family, may fond memories sustain you during this sad time of loss.
Sincerely,
Anne Marchand (Calgary).

So sorry to hear about Barb's passing. She was a very vibrant person and always laughing about something. Barb was an excellent nurse and very caring for her patients and all those around her in Anesthesia and the Operating Room. She was definitely known as the "social butterfly" and was the life of every Anesthesia event. I remember when Joe Lee wore her fur coat into the operating room because it was too cold and Barb could not stop laughing....those were the good old days on the 7th floor of the General building.
The last time I saw Barb was at my retirement tea in September of 2017 and she was so apologetic for being late but I was grateful she showed up. She will certainly be missed. Condolences and prayers to out to her family.

I was very sorry to hear of Barb’s passing. One of the original four anaesthesia operating room assistants, she will be fondly remembered by all anaesthesiologists and nurses in the Winnipeg operating room community. Her skill as an Intravenous Therapy nurse is unsurpassed! She will also be remembered as “the social butterfly” of the department, arranging many lunches and events for us all. Barb approached each day with humour and enthusiasm, and was liked by all!
To Barb’s family,my heartfelt sympathies go...no words can comfort when we lose ours mothers, but she will forever live in your hearts. Debbie and Ken Ringaert

We were shocked and saddened to hear about Barb’s passing. On behalf of all of the staff and musicians at the WInnipeg Symphony Orchestra, I offer heartfelt sympathies to all her family. Barb was like family to us. She was a long-time loyal supporter of the WSO and never missed a concert or special event. She loved classical music but she also enjoyed the Winnipeg New Music Festival. She just loved music. We especially missed her at our Opening Night concert on September 17. Her absence was felt by so many. The Red Room Receptions will not be the same without her welcoming presence and her great enthusiasm. She will be missed and will be warmly remembered. Sincerely, Beth Proven, VP Development.
