Obituary of AUDREY MAYBELLE BURK

December 12, 1933 – September 7, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce that Audrey Burk of Winnipeg passed away peacefully on September 7, 2018 at the age of 84 years. With grieving hearts, we take solace in the fact that her pain and suffering have come to an end.

Audrey will be forever missed by Andrew, her loving and devoted husband of 62 years; two adoring children, Glenda and Barry (Monica); and her angel on earth, her only grandchild Tianna; her brother Orval, her sister Mavis; her extended family and close friends. She is now reunited in heaven with her parents Joseph and Florence and with her brothers and sisters who passed before her. 

Aside from a year in Victoria, Audrey was a lifelong Manitoban growing up in Snowflake and settling with her family in Winnipeg. She spent a number of years working as a telephone operator at MTS before devoting her full attention to the family home and the cottage at Breezy Point. Audrey was always proud of the accomplishments of her family and eager to help celebrate the latest milestone. In particular, she loved to hear the latest news about Tianna. She so enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was thoroughly devoted to the family pets. Audrey liked to read, was excellent at crossword puzzles, enjoyed listening to her favourite music, never missed an important sporting event on TV and loved to relax on the deck in the warm sunshine.

Audrey’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the support of family and friends as well as to the healthcare professionals who treated Audrey so compassionately until the end; especially the doctors and staff at ACCESS River East, Concordia Hospital and the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. 

A celebration of Audrey’s life will take place on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg MB.
