Obituary of MARY KRUKOFF
MARY KRUKOFF
December 19, 1948 – September 3, 2018
It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Mary Krukoff, age 69, on September 3, 2018 at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg. Her father Peter and her mother Anne, brothers Bill Krukoff and Peter Krukoff, sister Florence Hlushko and her niece Alice Wright, predeceased Mary. She is survived by her sisters, Pearl Basaraba and Helen Mazurkewich, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mary was born on December 19, 1948 in Canora, Saskatchewan and was the youngest of six children. As a young adult, she moved to Winnipeg to be closer to other siblings. She worked as a Health Care Aide at Municipals Hospital, now known as Riverview Health Care Centre. She retired proudly after 30 years of service.
With her brother Peter, she enjoyed their numerous road trips back to Canora to catch up with family and friends. Mary had a love for animals and always had a pet dog or cat in the house. As her health declined her favorite past time was watching TV, especially the show “The Voice”. We will miss Mary’s nightly phone calls to check in and say “goodnight”.
Mary moved to Cathedrale Manor in 2014. She liked to attend evening music entertainment every Wednesday to hear songs from the good ole days. Mary’s family would like to extend their gratitude to staff at Cathedrale Manor for making her last years very memorable and enjoyable and thank you to her friend, Irene for checking in on her.
A very special thank you to Josh McCullough from home care and nurse Crystal and the support staff at Concordia Hospital, 3rd floor, for your care and compassion during Mary’s last hours.
The memorial in honor of Mary will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 starting with a private family viewing at 10:00 am and the service will follow at 10:30 am at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street Winnipeg. Burial to follow at Sylvan Public Cemetery.
