Obituary of STELLA IRENE BABIAK

Stella Irene Babiak (nee Sedak)

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother Stella Babiak at the age of 87

Stella leaves behind her daughters Marion (Stanley), Shirley (Richard), Nettie and Verna (Gary).  Her sons Walter (Emily), Fred (Joanna) and Wayne. Her sisters Edna, Betty, Rose and Dorothy (Gordon).  Also many nieces, nephews, grand children and great grand children. 

Stella was pre-deceased by her sons Stanley, Frank and Harold, her sister Jeanette and her only brother Mike as well as her brothers-in-law Jim, Lloyd, and Emil,  and nephew Alan.

Stella was born in Winnipeg and moved to St. Martin as a child where she lived until the age of 13.  She worked as a waitress until she got married and lived in Birds Hill where she raised her large family.  As the kids got older she moved to a farm in Fraserwood where she pursued a career working in a personal care home and later for Home Care for 11 years. She retired to the city in 2006 after a brief illness.

While in the country Stella had many interests including vegetable and flower gardening. She also enjoyed helping out with different events and functions in her community.

Funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 16 at 9:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, followed by burial in Holy Family Cemetery.
