Obituary of KENNETH EDWARD GREGRESH

Kenneth EDWARD Gregresh

1935-2018

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ken on August 6, 2018. He will be greatly missed by his wife Helen Phyllis and by his children Janice (Denis), Brian (Sharon), and Monica (Trish), seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Ken was predeceased by his baby daughter Sandra and is survived by his sisters Shirley (Henry Wiebe) and Lorraine (Jim Barlow).

Ken was born in Sandy Lake, Manitoba on October 4, 1935. He attended Gordon Bell High School and MITT College in Winnipeg before joining the Manitoba Telephone System in 1955. He worked in many departments before retiring in 1990 from the Engineering department. In 1984, Ken married Helen Phyllis Horodyski and together they enjoyed a great life.

Ken and Helen traveled extensively from Hawaii in the west to PEI in the east, and to Barbados in the south and many places in between. They went on four cruises, one which went through the Panama Canal. Ken and Helen spent many wonderful days fishing in the Whiteshell area with their motor home and inboard boat. Ken had a passion and love for airplanes since he was young. He has a Master Angler Award for a trophy rainbow trout and also obtained a Ham radio license after learning to send Morse code at 13 wpm. He was always interested in something to do with electronics. Ken enjoyed the many family celebrations and special occasions he shared with Helen’s relatives. Ken will be always loved and missed and his memory will be forever cherished by his wife Helen Phyllis.
