Obituary of RICHARD FRANCIS ANTHONY VAZ

RICHARD FRANCIS ANTHONY VAZ

Peacefully on June 30, 2018 Richard passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 86 years.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Leonie; children Colin, Patricia and Marietta.

Richard was a devoted husband to his wife Leonie and loving father to his three children. Being together for 54 years of marriage; Richard and Leonie were inseparable and truly loved each other’s company, which was very clear for even strangers to see.

Richard liked watching all sports; hockey, football, soccer, cricket but he got the most joy from watching the sports entertainment called wrestling (WWE).

A very educated and wise man, his interests were in history, reading and music, he loved singing. He loved all animals and animals loved him. I’m sure animals could sense his king gentle heart.

A lover of good food, Richard would always boast to anyone and everyone about how great his wife Leonie’s cooking was. He was always very proud of her and too many times to count would say how lucky he was to be with Leonie.

A very simple and down to earth man, it didn’t matter if you were the CEO of a company or a janitor, Richard would afford everybody the same equal dignity and respect.

A man of great faith, Richard was not a man of great material wealth and yet he was a very, very rich man. Richard lived his life wealthy in the grace he had been given, the unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ, and now he is with Jesus, Mary and all the angels and saints in Heaven in glory.
