I have no words to describe, the shock and grief I feel. I know what her family meant to her. Her joy when she became an Aunt. Very giving, very compassionate. Very influential in my life and others. Mrs Blonski, Richard, Susan and Devon, my heart goes out to you all, for such a devastating loss.

Dear Mrs. Blonski-you will be surprised to hear from Janet and I (Irene), the McKenzie girls who grew up at Griswold with Helen. After living years in Red Lake, Ontario and retiring to Dugald, Manitoba, my sister Janet, now living in Iowa (married to an Iowan farmer, after herself living a lot of years in Kenora, Ontario)-were in Griswold two weekends ago! We went to church there and then we had a tour of the old school (now a community centre) and we saw pictures of all of us when we were a lot younger! Helen, Richard, our brother Douglas and so many more in the picture! We reminiced about when we were kids and told a few stories-and wondered where we had all got to!
So the shock of seeing Helen's name in the paper this week really hit home! We lived in each others homes when we were young! I remember going to your place, always cookies and a puzzle on the go!
People do spread out and try their wings, my brother now lives at Cranberry Portage and has an RV park up there, although he did live in Brandon for a lot of years.
My sister and I are sending our condolences, it is always a difficult time, I was widowed at Christmas so the memory is very fresh, So please remember that Helen is fondly remembered as a wonderful childhood friend and you Mrs. Blonski always so kind to us when we came through your door!
I have a commitment up in Red Lake the day of her service but I will keep her in my prayers. Take care,
Love,
The McKenzie Girls- Irene Chabluk and Janet Sulsberger

We would like to pass on Our Sincere Sympathy to Helen's Family. We knew her in Brandon through curling. She was a joy to have as a friend. Loved the twinkle in her eyes when she was having fun.

Helen was our next door neighbour on Burrin for several years. She saw us get married, have our first child and even our second child until we out grew our first home. Even after we moved, we made yearly Christmas trips to her house to drop off a card and cookies. Helen was just the best neighbour. Many a conversation was had over the fence about family and life and pets (ironically we had two cats terrified of her dogs) I'm so sad to hear of this loss. My son is now five and still wears a fleece jacket she had bought him for his birthday during a trip to the Banff. Please know our thoughts are with her family and friends during this very difficult time.

I am sending my most Heartfelt Sympathies to Helen's Families. Stay Strong together as Helen would want.
I had known and worked with Helen off and on since the 1980's and she was a fabulous person and caring Nurse. Her legal work she gave to everyone too!
The last couple of years had been fraught with Medical issues and surgeries and caring for her Mom. That was our Helen very intuitive, compassionate and committed passionately to her life, others care and work.
Helen, my friend, now it is time to relax. There are no call bells in Heaven for you to answer and you can truly find the peace that you so badly needed.
Love you Forever, Susan

I am truly heartbroken for the loss of my good friend Helen. We met when I began working for the law firm Brock Derwin (later on as Brock & Associates) and we became very good friends along the way, comparing great books to read, our love of dogs and many weekend meetings for lunch. I will miss you so much Helen. I know you will be happy to see all your puppies who passed before you and Chris will be waiting to take you for a spin on his Harley.
My deepest condolences to Richard & Susan and family.
