Obituary of KAZIMIERA FRANCZYK
KAZIMIERA FRANCZYK
Kazimiera Franczyk, aged 86, passed away on March 31, 2018, after a brief illness.
Predeceased by her husband Zdzislaw in 2014, she is survived by her son Frank (Daniella), grandchildren Sara, Matthew and Jeremy, and her sister Adela. Kazimiera also leaves to mourn Zdzislaw and Jadwiga Dynowski and their son Chris of Winnipeg and over 100 nieces, nephews and their families in Poland.
Kazimiera was born in Nowosiolka Poland in 1932. The years leading up to the second world war were challenging and the years during the war dangerous, as she and her family avoided being sent to a Siberian Gulag during the Soviet occupation and then escaped from being sent to a concentration camp during the Nazi occupation. In April of 1945, they were relocated to western Poland where they rebuilt their lives as farmers. In 1957, after her father passed away, Kazimiera and her mother Maria immigrated to Canada to care for a widowed uncle. Within a year, she met and married Zdzislaw and started her own family. She worked very hard as a seamstress in numerous companies in Winnipeg and became a skilled sewing machine operator. She loved to bake and cook and care for her family. She was a perfectionist in all her activities and so very proud of her grandchildren. Kazimiera was kind and generous and always fed the birds, the rabbits and any other animals that came for a visit. Kazimiera respected and loved life in all forms. In 2017, she was thrilled to be able to return to Poland to attend a family reunion where she was able to hug, kiss and share stories with the descendants of her father and mother. The trip also allowed her to visit the memorials of her deceased siblings and of her dear father whom she spoke of so dearly and missed so much. Our dear mother and grandmother Kazimiera, our little energizer bunny, will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Cantius’ Church, 846 Burrows Avenue on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Rosary will commence at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
