DUNCAN IRVINE DAVIS
December 31, 1926 – March 14, 2018
Predeceased by his parents, sisters; Audrey and Doris, and granddaughter Darci.
Left to mourn are his wife Blanche of 72 years; children, Judy (Brian), Sherry (Maurice), Danny (Cathy), Connie, Terry (Ann), Dale (Beverly); nine grandchildren and spouses; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Dunc was born, raised and educated in Saskatchewan. An ardent sportsman in hockey and baseball, both played and coached. He played the drums in several orchestras.
He was employed by the CPR as an agent-operator for 21 years throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Following his days with the CPR, Dunc was employed with various companies until his retirement. Twenty-four years of accumulated army service. He conducted the master cadet program. He was the CO of three cadet corps.
In 1956 Dunc became a legion member and was initiated in 1959 with the Mason’s. He is a past member of the Scottish Rite, Shrine, and Past Masters Association of Winnipeg. He received his 50-year medal in 2009 and 55-year bar in 2014. A past member of United Services Institute, Manitoba Gunner’s Association and the RCEME Association.
Duncan was very well known in his communities and always had a funny remark for all. He will be greatly missed by many. May he rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus. We salute you.
Cremation has taken place. A masonic service of remembrance will be held at Masonic Memorial Centre, 420 Corydon Avenue (Confusion Corner), Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
