Obituary of ARTUR FERNANDO GARCIA
Artur Fernando Garcia
February 20, 1962 – March 1, 2018
Peacefully with his family by his side Artur Fernando entered the kingdom of heaven on March 1, 2018. Fernando was born on February 20, 1962 in Candelária, Pico, Azores and came to Canada as a baby with his parents in 1963. Fernando was always the light of anyone who knew and met him. He always smiled with his eyes wherever he was. Fernando is survived by his mother Adelaide, his brother Manny, his sister Dela (Henry), his nieces and nephews, Sabrina, Jaime, Sofia and Julio. Fernando also leaves to mourn his memory his aunts, Maria Augusta, Geraldina, Altina and Marina and his godfather Fernando as well as many cousins and friends. Fernando was predeceased by his father Artur, his sister Maria Fernanda, his paternal grandparents, Francisco and Francisca and his maternal grandparents, Manuel and Francisca.
The family would like to thank Cancer Care Manitoba for all the kindness they showed Fernando. The family would also like to thank Father Tiago Coloni Mps for his support and consideration. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba or Cancer Care Manitoba.
Prayers will be held on Thursday March 8th at 7 pm at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. 181 Austin St N. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 9th at 10 am also at the church. Interment to follow at the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Ave West.
