SARAH JANE SHARPE
Suddenly on February 1, 2018 in Winnipeg, aged 64, born January 11, 1954 to George Sharpe and Vida (nee Halverson) our beautiful mother earned her wings in Heaven.
Predeceased by her son Ronald Andrew Kennedy, born July 15, 1973 in Grassy Narrows. Also predeceased by her sisters, Diane Anishnabe, Mary Sharpe, Jessie Anderson and Margaret Dube. Also predeceased by her brother Hans Sharpe. Survived by her daughters, Christina Kennedy of Kingston, ON and Stephanie Jane Lovelace of Vancouver, BC. Also survived by her sisters Jane Thesenvitz of Ear Falls and Julia Carver of Thunder Bay. Also survived by her brothers, Dennis Sharpe of Ear Falls and Benny Sharpe of Perrault Falls. A loving sister, auntie to many nieces and nephews, Grandmother to Micheal Kennedy of Gibsons, BC, Victoria Kennedy-Webster of Verona, ON, Justis Kennedy of Kingston, ON, Ashley Kennedy of Kingston, ON and Brody Kennedy of Trenton, ON. Great-grandmother to Brayden of Kingston, ON and Knox Tryan of Verona, ON. A generous, kind friend to Agnes McKay and many others.
Sarah was known for her infectious laughter, her free-spirited ways, her generous nature and her willingness to help others. Sarah worked at Polo Park and The Maryland Hotel. Sarah grew up in Ear Falls and attended Residential School in Kenora. Sarah moved to Winnipeg in 1975 and loved the city life. Sarah married Alfred Abraham Franessen in 1980 and they were together until he passed away in 2004. Sarah enjoyed playing bingo with the ladies. Sarah was a good card player although she lost her share of nickels playing Nickel cards. Never one to hold onto things her generous nature was reflected in many of Sarah’s day to day living. Sarah made regular donations to the TD Children’s Hospital Fund. Sarah was a good cook and really loved to cook for others. She loved to cook soup and share it up with friends. Sarah loved her children immensely. Her Grandchildren and her Great-grandchildren were her treasures. Sarah had an amazing sense of humor and we will all miss that wonderful laugh.
A funeral service will be held February 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442, Main Street, Winnipeg, with viewing prior to service.
