Obituary of ANDREW HOLIK
ANDREW HOLIK
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Andy, age 50, on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, with his loved ones by his side.
Andy was pre-deceased by his mom and dad, Helena and Basil, and his brother Henry.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Adam, brother Ed, sisters-in-law Pam and Kathy, girl-friend Debbie (her son Jude), friend Judy (Adam’s mom), nephews Nick and Stef, nieces Sabrina, Brittany and Melissa, numerous cousins and many good friends.
Andy was born and raised in Winnipeg and spent his entire life here, going to school at St. Ignatius, St. Paul’s and Kelvin and then achieving his Commerce Degree from the University of Manitoba. He worked for MTS for a number of years, where he felt he had the best job possible and truly loved going to work every day.
Andy was very involved in rugby in his younger years, but his interests then turned to Karate at the Fort Garry Shotokan where he could share this passion with his son Adam, his pride and joy.
Our family and friends would like to thank the staff at CancerCare, HSC D6 and MICU for their tremendous work and compassion. If you would like to make a donation in Andy’s name, please make it to CancerCare Manitoba.
Andy’s Funeral Mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford St. in Winnipeg. A private family burial will take place on a separate date.
"To Be the man, you got to BEAT the man!"
We love you and will miss you Anj.
