Obituary of MARIA DE CONCEICAO REIS
MARIA DE CONCEICAO REIS
Peacefully, on January 5th, 2018, Maria de Conceicao Reis left us to go be with God at the age of 59 years.
Maria was predeceased by her parents, Raul Silveira and Maria Gilda Cardoso; as well as her brother, Hildberto. Left to always remember her kind and generous soul is her loving husband of 40 years, Francisco Jose Reis; and her son James Francisco Reis. Her brothers, Raul (Sonia Patinha), Mario , Jose Antonio; sisters, Lina (Eduardo Fonte), Odete (Jose Cardoso), Alzira (Jose Goulart), Diana (Eduardo Goulart), Adelaide (Jose Marcos), Carmen (Eduardo Avila), Ana ( Jose Goncalves); father-in-law Antonio Reis; sister-in-law Ana Reis (Carlos); brothers-in-law, Fernando, Carlos and the late Antonio Manuel. Her godchildren, Marcio Goulart (Maria Amado) , Cassandra Rodrigues, Emanuel and Sonia Gomes; as well as, many neices and nephews in the Azores, Portugal, Toronto and Winnipeg.
Mom was born in Cahleta de Nesquim, Pico, Azores on November 17th 1958. She will always be remembered by her loving, generous and caring nature. Her ability to see the best in people and to always know what they needed. Even if they didn't. She enjoyed volunteering for and helping with the local Azorean community in her earlier years, as well as, spending time with her close friends who were family to her and her husband. Lakeside cook-outs on any of the numerous fishing adventures she enjoyed with her husband and close friends. A hard working woman who had recently retired from HSC where she had worked for 38 years and made many life-long friends. She will always hold a special place in the hearts of all that had the fortune of calling her a friend and family member.
We cannot even begin to imagine a world without you Mom. We just take solace in the fact that you're now at peace. We love you, and will never forget you. May your blessed soul rest in peace.
Our family is thankful for all the Medical staff at CancerCare Manitoba and Health Sciences Center for their efforts.
Prayers will be said on Thursday, January 11th, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin St. N. at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 12 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Entombment to follow in Green Acres Mausoleum.
