JANINA (JEAN) SLABKOWSKI
July 14, 1922 – August 24, 2012
After a long, well lived life and with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt at the age of 90 years at the Holy Family Home.
Janina is survived by daughter Helen (Silvestar); son John (Michelle); grandchildren Tanya, Gina, Nina and Evan; sister Helen in Winnipeg and 2 sisters and 1 brother in Poland also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Walter.
Janina was born in Poland and came to Canada in 1947. She found joy in cooking, fishing, playing bingo and gardening. Janina will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
The family wishes to thank Kerry and the staff on 3A at Holy Family Home for their care and compassion.
Prayers will be said on Tuesday, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with an Oblate Father as Celebrant. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street
