PHYLLIS DOREEN BUNN
(Heavenly Blue Butterfly)
Surrounded by family, Phyllis, our beloved mother, nana and sister (long-time resident of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation) passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the age of 63 years.
Phyllis is survived by sons, Grant (Larissa), Kevin (Beatrice) and Johnny (Ginger) and her special grandchildren: Kenzie, Alexa, Katie, Kaydens, Damion, Darious, Siren and Trycen. Sisters: Gertie (Bill), Deb (Mark), Roselyn (Victor), Brothers: Allan, Wendell, Manny (Marcella), Joe (Drew) and Gary (Teresa). Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law: Patrick (Angela), Virginia (Gary), Shirley (David), Rosalie and traditional granddaughters Lauren and Karen plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband John, parents, Marie (Johnston) Sinclair, Rod Genaille, Stanley Sinclair Sr. and brother Glen, mother & father-in-law Albert and Beatrice Bunn and numerous relatives.
Phyllis enjoyed her travels coast to coast in Canada, many parts of the U.S.A especially Las Vegas; Kona on The Big Island of Hawaii; Honolulu, Machu Picchu in Peru, and her favourite island of Aruba. Phyllis co-owned and operated her shop, Shining Butterfly Handicrafts for many years and worked at The Entertainment Centre (Brokenhead Ojibway Nation) but due to failing health she was forced to take long-term disability. Later, Phyllis began her long and courageous battle with 2 forms of terminal cancers until her passing.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses, (Lesia & Tristan) of Selkirk Regional Health Centre; Palliative Care Medical Centre; B.O.N. Medical Health Centre; B.O.N. Chief & Council and also the staff at CancerCare Manitoba for their continuous help and support.
Visitation and Funeral Service will take place at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tina Leveque officiating and according to Phyllis’ wishes, cremation will take place and a private service will be held at a later date. A reception will be held following the service.
