Obituary of JAMES BARRETT
JAMES BARRETT
October 17, 1947 – October 29, 2017
Unexpectedly, but peacefully, Jim passed at home after battling a failing heart since 2009.
Jim worked as a Financial Advisor and in 1982 formed a partnership with fellow Advisor, Bill Mahon, which continued to this day, along with their long-time, devoted assistant, Roberta. Many of his clients became life-long friends and their trust in him was something he truly treasured. Jim was admired for his vast knowledge and experience in the industry and was sought out by other professionals.
Jim was the big brother of the family and always had time to listen and offer his best advice. He was an avid reader and had a wealth of knowledge on most world events. He enjoyed travelling later in life or just sitting in the backyard that he referred to as 'paradise.' He so appreciated the ongoing kindness of neighbours which knew no bounds. He was passionate about cars and looked forward to the weekly coffee gatherings with their owners. He served as a long time board member and was a continuing supporter of the Children's Wish Foundation.
Left to celebrate his life is his partner, Sandy Woytowich; siblings Joyce (Tony), May (Vern), Margaret, Dan (Judy) and Marsha (Baldwin); sister-in-law Donna (Gary) and in-laws Anne and Paul Woytowich, as well as, many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to sincerely thank Drs. R. Albak and R. Kroeker, as well as, the emergency personnel.
Service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., on Sunday, November 12th at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider being an organ donor or contributing to the Children's Wish Foundation Manitoba Chapter.
