Obituary of ANNETTE BYCHUK

Annette Bychuk (nee Smith) After living a full life of 87 years and struggles with health issues, Annette passed away with loving family by her side on Saturday, November 5, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, her parents and her brothers, Mike, John and Jake. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Paul (Diane), daughters Paula (Walter) and Debra (Roman). Also, grandchildren Diane Lynn, Cindy, Tammy, Jennifer (Jeremy), Lauren(Malcolm) and Sebastian (Susan) and her great grandchildren, Jessica, Jacqueline, Justin and Alexa. She will also be missed by her sister Mary of B.C. and several nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Kilkenny, MB on April 24,1924 and has shared many memories of her life there. It was a hard life but it prepared Mom for the many challenges she would have to face. On Jan.7,1945 Mom and Dad were married and Mom cherished the 66 years they had together raising a family, travelling and good times spent at their cottage. Hardworking and determined she enjoyed many vocations in her lifetime from Safeway cashier to managerial positions. However, Mom will be remembered most for her excellent cooking and baking skills as her family can attest to the numerous holiday feasts. Perogies, bread and borscht were among the many specialties that could always be found in her kitchen to be enjoyed with a cup of tea. There were seldom any store bought foods at Grandma's as she always made from scratch. Dad was the love of Mom's life and she missed him terribly when he passed away on Sept. 7th of this year. We take comfort in knowing that they are together at last, dancing the night away. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Dr. Li and staff on GA-4 at H.S.C. for their excellent care and compassion shown to Mom. Also, special thanks to Lions Manor Supportive Housing for showing kindness and on-going support to both Mom and Dad during their short stays there. In accordance with Mom's wishes cremation has taken place and no funeral will be held. A private interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish to express their sympathies, a donation may be made in Annette’s memory to the Cancer Society or a charity of their choice. To My Family Remember me in your heart, your thoughts and your memories, of the times we loved, The times we cried, the times we fought and the times we laughed. For if you always think of me; I will never be gone. Love, Mom Vichnaya Pam’Yat
