MARIA DA ESTRELA DEMELO It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Maria da Estrela Demelo on August 19, 2012. Estrela died peacefully with her family by her side at the Misericordia Health Centre. She was predeceased by her husband Francisco in 1996 and her sisters Rosaria, Luisa, Sizaltina, and her brother Guilherme. She leaves behind to mourn her passing, her son John (Cathy), daughter Rosey, daughter Anna (Casimiro) and her grandchildren Lisa, Andy, Gabby and Daniel, her sister Eduarda in Winnipeg, sister Dos Anjos in Sao Miguel, brother Carlos in USA and many nieces and nephews. Maria Estrela immigrated to Canada in 1962 to join her husband and made her home here for the past 50 years. Family was very important to her and she cherished her moments with us. Her happiest moments were every Sunday when family would get together at her house and she would cook for everyone. Mom, we will miss you but we carry in our hearts your life lessons and love. Your suffering has ended and you join hands with Dad again.
