KATHERINE CAPKA After a long, full life Mom died peacefully on August 8, 2012 at Misericordia Health Centre with her children at her side. She accepted her fate with courage and her profound faith in God during her lengthy struggle. Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Stephania Capka, Phyllis Kuklica and son Joe (Irene), grandchildren Angela Carvalho (Fernando), Stephen Kuklica(Kathy), Sheryl Bradley(Myles), Shelley Fillion(Dean), Trevor Capka, great- grandchildren Josh and Jesse Carvalho, Garrett, Ethan, and Paige Kuklica, Shyler Bradley, Alex and Hailey Fillion, Kyley and Evan Capka and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Dominic, son-in-law Steve Kuklica, her parents and all her siblings. She was born February 27, 1916 in Horna Krupa, Slovakia. She married Dad in 1936 and they immigrated to Canada in 1938. They spent most of their life in Oak Bluff farming and raising their family, retiring to Winnipeg in 1985. Mom’s passions were cooking, baking, gardening and needlework. Above all she lived for her family and enjoyed entertaining all who came to visit. Viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, Munroe and Brazier followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012. Interment will take place at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Stephen and Trevor and great- grandsons Josh, Jesse, Alex and Garrett. The family would like to thank the staff at Cedar Grove 5 for their kindness and compassion. In remembrance contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
