Obituary of MANUEL SOUSA
Manuel Sousa
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle, Manuel Sousa, on Friday, August 10, 2012.
Cherishing Manuel’s memory are his wife, Conceicao; children, Manuel (Nancy), Maria, Danny, Ilda, Connie (Bala); brother, Daniel (Laurinda); sister in law, Ilda, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Conceicao; brothers, Edwin, Bento and Humberto; grandson, Marcel and son in law, Octavio.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores on February 9, 1925, Manuel enjoyed working as a concrete finisher, puttering around the house, and gardening. He will be sadly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre and Riverview Health Centre. Thanks also to home care and the nurses with special thanks to Tim who took care of Dad at home.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday, August 14 at 8:00 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street North. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 15 at 10:00 a.m. also in the church. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Manuel’s memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division or Canadian Diabetes Association.
