Barbara Flanjak

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of

our beloved mother and grandmother, Barbara Flanjak, 88 years of age on

Tuesday, May 9, 2017.

Mama was born in Strmacka, Croatia March 4, 1929 to Vale and Kate

Begovic. She was predeceased by her loving husband Joso and her dear

sister Mare. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her children, son lvan;

Samuel and Alyvia, son Michael and daughter Kate; Josipa and Luka.

Mama was a very proud and spirited member of the Croatian Community

ever since she arrived to Canada May 8th, 1961.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday May 11, 2017 at 7:00 pm

with Prayers at 7:30 pm at St. Nicholas Tavelich Church, 2688 Main St. Mass of Christian

Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 12, 2017 al 11:00 am also at St.

Nicholas Tavelich Church with Father Marko Stefanec presiding. Mama will

be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to thank all staff at St. Boniface General Hospital and

Riverview Health Centre for their compassionate care of Barbara, as well

thank you to all family and friends for the amazing support.

ln lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the

CancerCare MB Foundation.
