Obituary of JOSE "JOE" SEBASTIAO
JOSE “JOE” SEBASTIAO
May 21, 1967 – May 7, 2017
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joe Sebastiao on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the age of 49 years. Joe is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 23 years, Helia and their nine-year old son and light of his life, Jack. Also left to mourn his passing is Joe’s sister Manuela (Victor); mother and father-in-law Maria and Domingos Corda; sister-in-law Anita (Mo); brother-in-law Marco; sister-in-law Theresa; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, God children and friends in Winnipeg and Portugal. Joe was predeceased by his beloved mother and father Maria Emilia Vieira Sebastiao and Artur Pereira Sebastiao and by his younger brother Joaquim (Jack).
Joe will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and friend. He would do anything he could to help out anyone. We will forever remember him for his outgoing personality, laughter, hard work, and genuine love of people. And he will be missed most by his soul mate Helia and his pride and joy Jack, the two people who brought him the greatest joy. Joe’s happiest times were spent going for long drives with Helia, watching Jack play soccer and hockey, and sitting by the fire with them at the Portuguese Park. He was a proud member of the Portuguese community and an avid Sporting fan.
It’s with deep sadness that we let him go and will take solace in knowing that he has been reunited with family and that he will be watching over us.
