MATILDA (TILLIE) SYS

Peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2017 with her family at her side, Matilda (Tillie) passed away at the age of 94.

She was predeceased by her husband Anthony (Tony) and her son Randy.

Matilda (Tillie) leaves to mourn her sons Barry (Helen), Wayne (Barb); her daughters Rachelle (Ken), Tracey (Wayne); many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister Violet and her step siblings.

She was born June 11, 1922 in Polonia, Manitoba where she grew up on the family farm with her numerous brothers and sisters. She moved to Winnipeg where she met her future husband Tony at a hall dance. They fell in love and married on June 1, 1945. There she raised her family.

Although Mom struggled with her health in later years, she always strived to be as active as she could.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Irene Baron for their care and compassion during Mom’s stay.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Private family interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to D’Arcy’s Arc Animal Rescue Centre, 730 Century Street.
