Jimmy was a dear friend and always came when I needed him. He always called me " Sweetheart" and we became friends when we were teenagers. I also lived in Winnipeg, but we kept in contact through John Safroniuk.

I REMEMBER WHEN I FIRST STARTED WITH THE CITY OF WINNIPEG,I WORKED WITH JIM IN DIST 6 HE MADE ME FEEL LIKE ONE OF THE BOYS RIGHT AWAY, ALWAYS LAUGHING NEVER SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF.IF HE WAS DRIVING THE GARBAGE TRUCK , HE WOULD GET OUT PITCH AND LET YOU DRIVE TO GIVE YOU A BREAK. HE WAS ALWAYS THAT KIND OF PERSON, ALWAYS GIVING.IF HE WAS MAKING GOLF TOURNAMENTS THAT MEANT SO MUCH TO HIM TO HELPING HIS BROTHERS,MOTHER AND DAUGHTERS,MANY OF TIMES THE BOYS WOULD GET TOGETHER GOLFING AT KILDONAN GOLF COURSE,SOMETIMES WE MADE IT TO 18 SOMETIMES NOT,BUT YOU KNOW WE WERE NOT THERE TO GOLF BUT TO HAVE LAUGHS AND GOOD TIMES WHEN WE WERE TOGETHER.ME AND DENIS BELL WORK WITH JIM IN DIST 6 FOR THREE YEARS,BEST YEARS I EVER HAD. I am deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing. We worked together for many years at the City of Winnipeg and shared many laughs. Jim spoke fondly of his family especially his daughters. Jim always helped his friends and brothers. I saw you this past Christmas and we laughed some more, but I did not know it would be the last. Thanks Jimmy. Love and respect. You will be missed.
