Obituary of SYLVIA SKORPAD
SYLVIA SKORPAD
It is with deep sorrow we inform you that after suffering a stroke, Sylvia Skorpad passed away peacefully February 21, 2017 in Seven Oaks General Hospital.
Members of her family, Vivian Shields, Elizabeth Chorney, Ron Skorpad, Marion Hlady and families are remembering her as we share some of our thoughts.
Born on July 22, 1938 and deceased February 21, 2017, Sylvia lived a life of generosity and faith in both her career as a registered nurse and personally with friends and family. She especially enjoyed sharing gifts and spending time with family.
Her last year with us was a difficult one due to her deteriorating health as a result of several falls and resulting injuries. We tried to help as much as we could in whatever ways that we were able.
She was able to enjoy events with family and loyal friends, some travelling through Winnipeg as they journeyed on their vacations across Canada. She treasured the memories of each visit and all her important telephone conversations to keep in touch.
Her loving pets, Cubby, Monique and Missy filled her life with joy and she volunteered with the Winnipeg Humane Society and supported their cause.
Her sense of humour and interest in current news happenings made for lively conversations.
Respecting Sylvia’s wishes, a private service for the immediate family will be held.
If you wish, donations may be made in Sylvia’s name to the Winnipeg Humane Society at 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
A Memorial Tree was planted for SYLVIA
