Obituary of BERTIE BELL
BERTIE BELL (nee Sinclair)
Peacefully, on February 15, 2017 Bertie, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the Grace Hospital, surrounded by her family at the age of 90 years.
Bertie is survived by her daughters Dawne (Bill) Poole of Rockwood,ON and Lorraine (Bill) Price of Winnipeg; her son Gary (Eleanor) of Strathroy, ON; 5 granddaughters Tammy, Jillian, Jennifer, Corinne and Leanne; 3 grandsons Sean, Ryan and Michael; 13 great-grandchildren and her dear companion Ed Solimka. She also leaves to mourn, sisters Marg, Gert and Eleanor and her brother Ray.
Mom served on the Women’s Auxillary in the Army, Navy, Airforce Unit 1. She was the last standing president of the ANAF Unit 1 (John Osborne V.C.) after having served them for many years. She was also a long standing member of the Alpha IOTA Sorority where she held several offices. She worked for Wawanesa Mutual for many years, retiring in 1994.
Mom was very active throughout her life and was an avid golfer and bowler.
She was always there to help friends in need and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and “GG”.
The family thanks the staff at Grace Hospital, especially Unit 5 North and Dr. George for their compassionate and loving care of their mother.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
