Obituary of MAZUR JOHN
JOHN MAZUR SR.
It is with deep regret that we announce the death of John Mazur Sr. at 90 years of age. John died at Concordia Hospital on August 2, 2012 with his family by his side.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his two sons John Mazur Jr. (Irene), Brad, his grandchildren Brian, Amanda (Andy), and Brandyn. John was predeceased by his wife Rosemarie, his parents Anne and Louis, brothers Joe and Paul, and sisters Stella and Helen.
John was born in Lowland, MB in 1921. As a teenager, John left home and traveled by rail car working at various jobs until settling in Hamilton, ON. He spent several years working as a welder building landing craft during World War II. After meeting his wife Rosemarie, John moved his family to Winnipeg, MB in 1957 and started working at Consolidated Motors. This led him to the auto service industry and the Texaco gas station, which he owned and operated with his sons until 1988. John was an avid gardener and could often be seen working in his garden and proudly sharing his harvest with the family. He also loved to drive out to the country every summer for berry-picking. Fishing out in Whiteshell Prov. Park was another favorite pastime. John was very proud of and involved with his grandchildren and attended every sporting and school event.
In keeping with John's wishes cremation has taken place. A service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Thursday, August 9th at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lung Association in his honor.
Condolences and tributes may be shared online at www.cropo.com/book-of-memories/1302976/JOHN-MAZUR/service-details.php
