Obituary of EDWIN ALOIS FROEMEL
EDWIN ALOIS FROEMEL
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edwin Alois Froemel on December 26, 2016.
Edwin was predeceased by his wife Gudrun and sister Helga. He is survived by his two sons Doug and Norm and other extended family.
Edwin was born in Wetzlar, Germany in 1928 and loved his German heritage. In 1953 he immigrated to Canada and worked as a millwright at Swifts and then Somerville Packaging.
Edwin loved creating, building and fixing things, it was his passion and this was carried over at home and the cabin. When building the cabin with Gudrun, every year was a project that had to be well thought out and then completed. While “thinking” it gave Ed lots of time to hunt, fish, snowmobile, cross country ski, play cards and spend time with family and friends.
We would like to thank the Tuxedo Villa Staff for their compassionate care of Dad. We know there were good days and challenging days.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road with Rev. Fr. Phil Daley presiding.
