Obituary of EDWARD WALTER ROZWOOD
EDWARD WALTER ROZWOOD
Surrounded by his children, Edward passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 in the early morning hours at the Victoria Hospital, finally at peace.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters and one son, Arlene, Edward (Patricia St. Jean) of Montreal, Quebec, Linda (David Kay); as well as five grandchildren, Alisha, Mark (Elle), Meghan, Sarah and Eric.
He also leaves to mourn his memory two sisters Ollie Rozwood and Stella Kuklica as well as numerous relatives and close friends.
He is predeceased by his wife Olga (Kraynyk), his sister Anne Mitosinka and his parents Martin and Mary Rozwood.
Edward was a loving husband and devoted Dad and Papa. He loved his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed the countless hours he spent with them. Edward was born in Winnipeg but grew up and went to school in Glenella, Manitoba. He moved to Winnipeg and was employed in several different occupations, however, he found employment with the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission where he spent most of his working career as a warehouse foreman on Buffalo Place.
Edward enjoyed travelling to various parts of the world and many summers at Nutimik Lake in the Whiteshell. He was also an avid sports fan watching his favorite teams play baseball, football and hockey. Edward was a long time member of Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church. He had many roles within the church over the years, calling Bingo, serving mass and even helping to make perogies. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Prayers will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Friday, November 4, 2016 at 10:00 at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, Grant and Harrow. Interment will follow at Holy Ascension Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sundown, Manitoba.
Special thanks to the staff at The Rosewood, Hawthorne House and Dr. A. Vattheuer who took exceptional care of him. A very special thank you to family friend, Ray Allan, who took Dad out for coffee Saturday mornings. Also to Dr. J. Prenovault for his care and concern during his hospital stay.
