When I was growing at Saint Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, there were several pillars of the parish, and one of them was Connie, director of the Catechism program. Connie was a true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ and devoted child of The Blessed Mother. She was kind and generous with everyone, of whatever age or condition. Her ministry of service extended well beyond her home parish and beyond the Ukraine Catholic community, since she taught for many years in the Catholic School system. I had the great privilege of having Connie as religious educator director when I served as parish priest from 2000 to 2005. She also generously agreed to serve as director of our Church Improvement committee which, at the time, was coordinating elevator and roof-overhall projects. her patience and kindness with the many obstacles in our the way was a testimony to her simple and quiet virtue and her love for her Lord and her fellow men, women, and children. I had the blessing to be able to speak with her, briefly, in August. She was positive and hopeful, as always, but her hope was directed beyond this vale of tears to the life that she now enjoys with the blessed, in God's eternal presence. Зі святини упокой, Христе, душу раби Твоєї. Вічная пам'ять!

I met Connie while working together on the board of the Reading Council of Greater Winnipeg. During my 16 years on the board with her, Connie was always an inspiring literacy leader but more importantly, Connie was a kind and caring person who always asked about how I was doing and how my own children were. She was a smart and lovely lady. I will miss her and am grateful I had a chance to know her. qLr
