Obituary of LYNN GRACEFFO
Lynn (Miriam Hulynn) Graceffo
(nee McEwing)
January 16, 1933 - September 8, 2016
On September 8th, 2016 at 1:15 p.m., Lynn Graceffo passed away at the age of 83, in St. Boniface Hospital, with her family by her side. Besides her husband, Len, she is survived by three children: Greg (Marlene), Lisa (Kelly Cudney) and Peter (Cindy Frank); seven grandchildren: Mark (Amy), Laura (Réal), Luke (Kirstin), Adam (Jennifer), Sera (Michael), Scott (Kristen), and Amy (Quin); five great- grandchildren: Capriese, Léo, Bowden, Royce and Willa; and 3 step- grandchildren: Dexter (Gabrielle), Alexandra (Jonathan) and Spencer (Emily). Lynn always felt that her greatest accomplishment in life was her family. She was proud of each of her children, their families, and was always interested in “what was going on”.
Lynn lived a contented life filled with love for her family and friends. She and Len travelled the world and enjoyed many wonderful experiences, which provided fond memories for both of them. Mom was passionate about Winnipeg and all that it had to offer. From Rancho Don Carlos in her youth, through to the symphony, theatre, concerts, the Jets, Bombers, and the Goldeyes, she loved and followed it all. She was a fantastic cook and prepared many delicious meals for her family and friends and they entertained frequently. Her grandchildren recall her great cookies, which she used to regularly send home with them. Among other things, they all LOVED her special “Brown Sugar Cookies”!
Lynn loved working numerous years in the fashion and cosmetic industry where she developed many relationships that grew into great friendships beyond the workplace. She demonstrated products right up to 2 weeks prior to her passing. Everyone who knew Lynn thought of her as a “classy lady” who always looked beautiful. To quote Lynn: “there is no bad mood that the RIGHT shade of red lipstick won`t fix”.
The family would like to thank the Seven Oaks ICU and St. Boniface Emergency and ICU nurses, physicians and other staff for providing excellent care. In accordance with Lynn’s wishes, there was no service. Her immediate family celebrated her life with a family Sunday dinner featuring dishes that she loved to prepare for her family, cold pinot grigio wine, and of course…Andre Bocelli and Frank Sinatra tunes.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choice, in memory of Lynn Graceffo.
