I did basic training with Jamie in 2007. He was a great guy to be around and was always positive. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family. When I read of his passing this morning on the 4 Wing splash page I was shocked. My working relationship with (then) Lt Vermette in Winnipeg was fleeting, but he was the type of person to leave an impression ... and a very good one. It is very sad, indeed, that someone so very special has had their light dimmed so early in life.

I am shocked and saddened with Jamie's passing. I remember the last time I saw him, and wish I would have taken more time, as I am sure everyone else has. Jamie was a quiet presence to our Cub meetings as Hathi, and fully supportive with the youth for the past two years he was with us. It's funny because memories just keep popping into my head... I just remembered summer cub camp in June 2015 when Jamie played Ultimate with several Cubs until 12:30-1:00 in the morning. Darkness was not an issue in Yellowknife, and even though I was ready to bed much earlier than that, Jamie kept going, like an Energizer bunny... Our Scouts Halloween party last year saw Godzilla at the colouring table for much of the night... (;
Lindsay, Maya and Isaac, we love you and I have you in my prayers!

I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of a loved one is one of the most difficult things a person may have to deal with in life. We can take comfort from God's word that tells us he's aware of our pain. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God."

We were always happy to see Major Jamie Vermette and Isaac join us in ball hockey. He was a great father who patiently taught his son how to play the game and just enjoyed life to the fullest. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Lindsay, Isaac & Maya,
Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
May Angels surround you and carry you through this time of grief. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
