Obituary of MARIA NAAYER
MARIA NAAYER
On Tuesday, August 16, 2016, surrounded by love, our mom journeyed on to heaven to be with her heavenly family.
Mom was born in Gangelt, Germany on July 6, 1927 to Wilhelm and Agnes Sproten. Mom met Dad while working in Holland and they married in 1953. They came to Canada in April, 1954 and started their family that same year. They lived in Winnipeg for two years and then bought the family homestead. Mom stayed at home and raised her family. As the children became independent, mom went to work at Addis Greenhouse and Woolco, ending her career at St. Benedicts. Mom moved to the Knights Center in Selkirk in 2007 and went to the Middlechurch Home in 2011.
She was predeceased by her husband John in 1983; son Willy in 1968; infant daughter in 1959; and many other family members.
Left to forever cherish her memory are her beloved family John; Mary(John), Ward(Caitlin), Drew(Ashley), Chris(Chelsey); Leonard; Agnes(Richard) R.J., Jeremiah(Sarah); Marianne(Graham), Nicole(Kirk); Frank; Angie(Gord)Emily and Taylor.
Thank you to the caring staff at Middlechurch Home for your care and compassion.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church, 3597 Main Street, West St. Paul. The pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Ward, Drew, Christopher, R.J., Jeremiah and Nicole.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
