DANIEL (DON) BIBE
Peacefully at Luther Home on Friday, August 12, 2016. Daniel passed away at the age of 88 years of age.
Don was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba on the 17th of September 1927. He lived all his adult years on Lansdowne Avenue, then moved to Amber Meadows and finally to Luther Home until he went home to his final resting place.
He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Joseph Bibe, brother John, sister Jean, his loving wife of 56 years Elsie, and daughter in law Kathy Bibe.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, daughter Darlene (Gordon) Grossmann, granddaughter Christine, daughter Sharon (Raymond) Dentry, grandson Corwin (Ruth), great grandson Benedict, and son Bruce Bibe.
Don followed in his father's footsteps and worked most of his adult life at Canadian National Railway in Symington yards Transcona as a machinist, floor supervisor and later as a purchasing agent.
For many years he and the family enjoyed going to their cottages, first at West Hawk Lake and later at Moose Lake.
Grandchildren always had a very special place in his heart. He enjoyed many social commitments at St. John’s Lutheran Church as well as the North Centennial club.
A Memorial Service and celebration of his life will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on August 23rd, 2016 at 2:00 PM, Service will terminate at the church as cremation has taken place.
Special thanks to the staff at Luther Home for their care and compassion. We always knew dad was in great hands and could rest easy knowing he was so well taken care of.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations in his memory may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or a charity of their choice
