Obituary of STEPHANIE MARY ROMANEK

STEPHANIE MARY ROMANEK It is with deep sorrow that the family of Stephanie Mary Romanek (nee Tony) announces the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, on August 7, 2016. Mom passed away in her 88th year. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband Thomas, daughter Carol Nuttall (Eric), grandsons Andrew (Corinne), Ian (Jessica), Steven (Anissa), great-grandson Noah and sister Joan McNab. Stephanie is predeceased by her daughter Diane, parents Mary and Anton Tony, brother Stanley, and sister Louise. Stephanie was born on January 17, 1928 and grew up in Beausejour, Manitoba. She and Tom married on May 13, 1950 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Beausejour. Stephanie devoted her life to her husband and raising their two daughters. Later she became very involved as a grandma to her three grandsons and her great grandson. Her interests included bird watching, reading, cooking, baking, her two dogs, and mostly her love for their cottage of 34 years. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 12 at 11:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Home at 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg with Father Owen Steeves presiding. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery, 4387 Main Street. Flowers gratefully declined, donations in memory of Stephanie may be made to the Humane Society of Winnipeg or a charity of your choice.
