Obituary of GUDRUN MARIA FROEMEL
GUDRUN MARIA FROEMEL
(nee Suttner)
With heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Gudrun Froemel on Sunday, July 31, 2016.
Gudrun is survived by her husband Edwin; two boys, Doug and Norm; and her brother Erich (Elizabeth) Suttner.
Gudrun was born in Martnau, Germany to Maria and Anton Suttner. She always loved to tell stories about her childhood in Germany.
In 1956, she moved to Canada with her family and was married to Edwin 1968. She worked at many different jobs including raising her family but found her calling at Dr. C.M. Shaw’s office for twenty plus years as a medical secretary.
Gudrun loved to have coffee, socialize, play cards, pinch perogies at the parish, paint, shop, knit, sew for MCC and St. Boniface Hospital for people in need and cook for everyone and then cook some more to make sure no one went hungry.
Respecting Gudrun’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette’s Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood with Rev. Fr. Phil Daley presiding. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery.
