Dear Connie, Janelle and family: We send our sincere condolences on the passing of your husband, father and grandfather. Merlyn was one of the best! He was a great role model, a man with a smile for everyone, humor and such compassion. His love for God was so evident in all we ever saw him saying or doing. His love of family was admirable. His love of Knights of Columbus was inspirational. I was moved by his self emptying at this years March for Life. In spite of obvious pain, there was Merlyn, giving it his all for LIFE - what he truly believed in. He will be missed by many. May he now enjoy the eternal reward. We keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Love to all.

Connie and Janelle, my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beloved Merlyn.
As you know I only had the pleasure to meet Merlyn on a few limited occasions but each meeting was anticipated and thoroughly enjoyed . He made me feel so welcomed into your home as if no one else mattered for that time. I will cherish and remember my few but wonderful visits to your home Many thanks for sharing this unique man with myself and the so very many others that the poignant obituary speaks to..

May the songs of the Angels welcome him
And guide him along his way.
May the smiles of the martyrs greet their own
As darkness turns into day.
Every tear will be undone
And death shall be no more
As the songs of the Angels welcome him
To his heavenly home.
Dear Connie
We will all dance a polka again in heaven.
Our deepest sympathy
Morris and Gail

A truly extraordinary man. His integrity, kindness and dedication to his Church, his family and the Knights and his Country as well as people in need in other countries is truly exemplary. His legacy with the Knights of Columbus before and after serving as State Deputy has set the bar for members of the Order everywhere. His trailblazing wheelchair project, his spearheading of the Ukraine initiative and his tireless March-for-Life leadership are but a few of his accomplishments. May our good Lord, Who Merlyn loved so much, welcome him into His Heavenly Kingdom. Vichna yomu pamyat’!

I was very sad to hear of the death of Merlyn, a very fine man and someone I always considered a dear friend. I always appreciated Merlyn's spiritual and moral support during my time as pastor of Saint Nicholas Church and as chaplain of Father Filipow Council of the Knights of Columbus. I looked to Merlyn's involvement in the Council as a example of a fine human being and a devout Christian. Deepest condolences to the family. Be assumed of my thoughts and prayers for his repose in Christ and for your comfort.
