Obituary of AHAFIA PIKE
EFFIE PIKE (NEE HAWRYLUIK)
Effie passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 17, 2012, at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford, and her sisters, Pearl, Mary, Ann, Elsie, Jean, Olga, and Sophie. Effie is survived by her loving son Randy and numerous nieces and nephews.
Effie lived a wonderful life, growing up in Vita, Manitoba, being the youngest of eight girls. She enjoyed music, art and was involved in many organizations such as teaching Catechism as a member of the St. Bernadette’s Parish, President of Toast Mistress and started positive thinking clubs. Effie and Cliff started their own successful business and enjoyed special times together as a family, with their only son Randy. She was a talented artist and sang in the choir at St. Vladimir & Olga Church. She had a beautiful voice and a big heart. She enjoyed playing the organ and was always up for a good card game with her sisters and friends. After losing her husband, unexpectedly, she never gave up. When things get tough, the tough get going, she would always say. She spent her years between Winnipeg, Manitoba and British Columbia, and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 24, at St. Bernadette’s Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road at 11:00 a.m. with viewing beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Highway #1 East & Navin Road.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband Clifford.
