Obituary of RICK BIELUS
RICK BIELUS
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother Rick Bielus on Monday June 20, 2016. Rick was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 5, 1954. He was a gentle man, with a kind soul and big heart, and was always there to lend a helping hand.
He leaves to mourn: his sister Angela Muszynski, her husband Les, their daughters Melissa (fiancé Eric) and Jennifer, and granddaughter Peyten; and his brother Larry Bielus, his wife Kathy, their daughter Ashley and their son Mitchell; along with long time former co-worker and good friend Eugene; and other family members and close friends.
Rick was predeceased by his parents, Lorna and Tony Bielus, and long-time friend and life partner Margaret Atkin.
Rick graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in 1976, upon which he started his life-long career with MTS, until his retirement in 2006. Rick loved his job, anything electrical and always believed the transistor was one of life’s greatest inventions. He loved to tinker and could pretty much fix anything broken and/or discarded. He loved working on and re-building motor vehicles, in particular his first new car a 1977 Monte Carlo. Rick loved to collect things and going to the local auctions. He was always thrilled when he found a great deal, but he especially liked bidding on the un-opened boxes and the excitement of seeing if he hit the jackpot.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 2, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
Private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
While you left us far too soon in life, you will always be in our hearts and memories.
