Obituary of HELEN HORNER
HELEN HORNER
(nee Antymniuk)
It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Horner announces her passing on July 14, 2012, at the age of 89.
Helen is survived by her brothers John (Ellen) and Paul (Linda) Antymniuk, plus many nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her parents' John and Mary, brothers George and Matt (Rose), husband Ed, and her dear lifelong friend Mary Whitworth.
Helen was born July 18, 1922. She graduated from high school in Lebret, Saskatchewan. After moving to Winnipeg, she attended Dominion Business College. She was first employed at McDonald Brothers Aircraft and worked at The Hudson's Bay Company from 1944 until retirement in 1987. Helen loved to laugh, dance and spend time with her many friends at the Ukrainian Canadian Legion Branch # 141.
"I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, from pain I'm free,
I'm following the path God has laid, you see.
I took His hand when I heard his call
I turned around and left it all.
I could not stay another day.
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found the peace on a sunny day."
The family would like to thank the staff of the Victoria General Hospital for their patience and care.
In accordance to Helen's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Assumption Cemetery.
