NICHOLAS BOYD

Obituary of NICHOLAS BOYD

NICHOLAS BOYD Peacefully on July 17, 2012 at Concordia Place, Nick Boyd was reunited with his wife Lillian at the age of 103 years. Nick is survived by his children Norma Holland, Jean (Al) Rogowski and Gordon Boyd; grandchildren Kirby Holland, Ariel Beaudoin, Colleen Boyd and Derek Boyd and their mother Carol; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Nick was born in Gimli, MB. He left home at an early age and worked for 47 years in a bedding company. He and his wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary prior to her passing. They both met at a young age through family and became a lasting couple. Nick spent many happy visits with his children and took several trips to visit natural wonders. He still could hit a pool ball at 101. He was an amazing man who was always kind and generous to others. A rare individual who lived to plow a field with an ox, to see the first man land on the moon and to live in two centuries. To know him was to love him. The family would like to thank Dr. Frank Martin, Dr. Tamara Buschell, Dr. Paul Sawchuk, the many staff homecare workers, hospital staff both at Seven Oaks, Concordia, and Concordia Place who had as difficult time as his family saying goodbye to him. A Celebration of Nick’s life will be held on Friday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Concordia Place, 1000 Molson Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nick’s memory to Manitoba Society of Seniors, Inc. (MSOS) or to The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
