Obituary of MARIA CHAVES

MARIA CHAVES It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Maria Chaves, age 78 on Sunday, May 15, 2016. She is survived by her daughters, Maria (Jose), Paula (Al), Elza (William) and Aida (Lloyd); grandchildren, Nancy (Mike), Brian, Isabella (Julian) and Anthony; and great-grandchildren, DeShawn and Mateus. Maria was predeceased by her husband Antonio; son Francisco; and parents, Antonia and Francisco Monteiro. Mom was born on June 3, 1937 in Santa Maria, Azores. Her favourite thing was to spend time with her family. The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital, Maila, Karen, Samantha, and Maria. Thank you to Steve for his caring, compassion, friendship and love for our Mom. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maria’s memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to the Humane Society.
