Obituary of ADELINE SOPIWNYK
ADELINE SOPIWNYK (nee: WODZICKI)
On Wednesday, March 30 2016, Adeline Sopiwnyk of Winnipeg passed away at the age of 80 years.
She leaves to mourn, her nieces Charlene (Lorne) and Tanya (Marcus), cousins Marion (Joe) Lehner; Peter (Marlene) Skrinski and Anne Stebelski and their families as well as many more cousins and numerous friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Mike Sopiwnyk in 1982, her father Dmetro in 1951; her mother Anastasia in 1987; her brother Henry in 1982, her brother Joe in 2006 and sister-in-law Agnes in 2015.
She was appreciated by all for her hospitality and her outgoing personality. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines for many years and performed throughout the whole City. She enjoyed bowling and was on a team at Mozienko Lanes. She loved to travel to exotic places and she and her cousin Marion had many adventures and good times travelling to new places and meeting the locals. One of her greatest passions was caring for the elderly. She remained traditional throughout her life and followed the Julian calendar. She prepared Ukrainian feasts and brought people together in her home to eat, sing, dance and celebrate.
Adeline's family would like to thank all of the staff at St. Joseph's Residence Inc. for their care, kindness and support.
A Celebration of Adeline's Life will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at. 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Adeline's memory to your favourite charity.
May you rest in peace with the Lord dearest Adeline.
